Developing our kids’ study habit is a challenging job to do. We all know that most kids, if not all, love to play and have fun. Nagging and forcing them to study whenever they still want to play will not be that much help since they, normally, don’t want to be pressured into doing something that they’re not interested with. Some children even get so stubborn when they are obliged to study.

Remember that whatever has been taught to kids when they were younger, they be able to apply them as they grow up. So the best time to start developing their study habit is while they are young. Even if they don’t go to school yet, it is best to make it a habit to read to them books and, later, slowly teach them how to read. Creating activities that would require their participation such ask them easy questions pertaining to the books or lessons that you’ve read and studied and appreciating their every effort to participate in the activity would be a great way to show them that learning is fun. Making it part of their routine everyday would make it seem like a normal thing to do. The younger they are, the better time it would be to instill in their minds the importance of school and studying.

Set a schedule for your kids. Divide your children’s leisure times into the things that they have to do. There should be a specific time for studying, playing and doing chores as well if they already tasked to do so. This way, your kids will be able to adjust their time and set their moods to their every activity. Having the schedule will also teach your children the sense of responsibility and the essence of time.

Be there for them. The presence of the parents while their children are studying is really very important. There may be times that your kids were not able to understand their lessons well hence they would need someone to help them. Making them feel that you’re there for them, to help and guide them would surely make your children feel happy and relieved.

Most children regard studying to be tiring and boring. It is then the parents’ task to prove to their children that learning is fun. Though doing so is not easy, it, surely, is rewarding to see your kids excel in their studies, right?

And let this be a reminder to all the parents, like me, that may we’ll continue to watch, educate and guide them to be a responsible citizen because we don’t want our kids to end up in los angeles rehab, right?
